St Thomas More Catholic High School

Welcome

St Thomas More Catholic High School is a school at the heart of the community.  We are blessed with our links to our four partner parish churches and our three partner primary schools, St Mary’s Crewe, St Anne’s Nantwich and St Gabriel’s Alsager.  Our mission, through our Catholic Social Teachings, is visible throughout our school. The Common Good is an aspiration for all to achieve through fulfilling a dignity of work and education, a care and empathy for others, and a sense of solidarity, through being part of a family and community.  Our Catholic Social Teachings are at the heart of every decision we make, every policy we bring into practice, every lesson, and at play.  Our 2020 Ofsted noted: “Pupils are kind to, and supportive of each other, in this welcoming school.”

St Thomas More Catholic High School is one of the highest performing schools in Cheshire.  Our Progress 8 in 2023 was the highest progress data in Cheshire East and the second highest in Cheshire.  This means that our children make more progress than national expectations. “Teachers’ expectations of all pupils are high.” Ofsted 2020.

Our pupils are very proud to attend St Thomas More.  Our Diocesan Inspection of 2017 rated us Outstanding.  Our most recent Ofsted in 2020 rated us as a good school.  “Pupils told us that their teachers really care about them. Discrimination is not tolerated, and pupils feel safe.” Our curriculum offer is vibrant and stimulating with high classroom challenge.  Our Building the Kingdom programme is a bespoke school programme of pastoral and personal development support.  We are committed to providing our pupils with an academic and spiritual growth, to ensure that they become inquisitive learners with ambition for their aspirations.

I am very proud of the history and tradition of St Thomas More Catholic High school.  The prayer and faith development, the love of learning, the opportunities for personal development, the very high standards of behaviours and attitudes, and the aspirations we have for every child are all evident as you walk our school.  This is a blessed place to work, where every job role is a vocation and a responsibility to support the next steps for our children.  This is a blessed place to be a pupil, where there is care and nurture, opportunity and growth, spiritual nurture, and academic and personal success.

I encourage you to come and visit our wonderful school to find out more about our inclusive nature and to meet our inspirational staff and our fabulous pupils.

I look forward to welcoming you personally.
