Curriculum Leader for design technology (maternity cover)

Salary – Teacher’s Pay Scale + TLR 2 (£6,646)
The Governors of St Thomas More Catholic High are seeking to appoint an innovative, talented teacher and committed Curriculum Leader to work across KS3 and KS4 (including GCSE), to create a highly performing Computing, Design Technology, Food Preparation & Nutrition and ICT department.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who will lead Computing, ICT and Design Technology and sustain the achievements of our students. In order to meet with changes to the National Curriculum, the successful candidate will develop and lead ICT, Computing and Design Technology courses across the school.
Curriculum Leaders assist in managing and leading the school through their responsibility for the leadership and successful delivery of their curriculum area and development of all members of the department. Along with all other members of staff, they assist in running the school by contributing to management initiatives in matters of whole school policy, promoting initiatives in respect of their own areas of responsibility, ensuring high levels of achievement and the day to day management of order and discipline within the department and around the school so that excellent standards of behaviour and courtesy are maintained and a well ordered, aesthetic and encouraging learning environment for pupils is established.
